Man held with 15 gm heroin

Police today arrested a person and recovered 15 gm of heroin from his possession near a town along the Indo-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district.

The drugs were found in the possession of a 56-year-old man during an operation conducted at Prem Nagar locality at Moreh town this morning, SP S Ibomcha said.

The heroin is estimated at Rs 3 lakh in the international market.

The operation was carried out to counter the rising number of drugs-related cross-border smuggling cases, Ibomcha said.
