Man killed after bike hits tree in UP's Chitrakoot district

A man was killed and two others suffered injuries when their motorcycle rammed into a tree in Chitrakoot district, police said on Monday.

The accident took place in Karwi police station area of the district on Sunday, they said.

Sub-Inspector Rajesh Mishra of Bharatkoop police outpost said the deceased has been identified as Sunil (28), a resident of Banda.

"All the three were without helmets and in an inebriated state," Mishra said.

The accident took place when they were on their way to a private hospital to meet Sunil's father who is admitted there, police said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the injured have been admitted to the district hospital in Chitrakoot, they said.
