Man killed as car plunges into river

A man was killed while his wife and two-year-old son received critical injuries when their car skidded off the road and fell into River Chenab in Doda district, police said today.

The accident took place near Premnagar in Doda district last night after the driver lost control on a steep curve.

Police along with locals rescued the young couple and their minor son from the half submerged car and rushed them to hospital where doctors declared the man dead.

The victim's critically injured wife and son are undergoing treatment, said SDPO, Bhadarwah, Birjesh Sharma.
