Man kills elderly mother, injures sister-in law

An elderly woman was allegedly killed by her son in Umri Begumganj area when she prevented him from getting into an argument with his sister-in law, police said today.

65-year-old Sushila Tewari died soon after her accused son Pawan Kumar hit on her head with a stick last night in Baldepur Deeha village, police station incharge Avdhesh Raj Singh said.

The victim was trying to pacify Pawan while he was having an argument with his sister-in-law which instigated him, Singh said.

The sister-in-law was also injured in the incident and has been admitted to a private hospital, Singh said, adding, that a case has been registered and efforts are on to nab Pawan.
