Man sentenced to life in a murder case

A man has been sentenced to life and slapped a penalty of Rs 12,000 by a local court here in a five-year old murder case.

Suresh Kumar Rawat had killed Chandrashekhar in June 2009 when he resisted the move by the accused to tease his sister in Kursi area, said Rajkumar Verma, Assistant government counsel.

He said after hearing both the parties, Additional District Judge Gyanesh Kumar yesterday held Suresh guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
