A 40-year-old man shot at his paramour and then tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in Balram Nagar colony in Loni border police station area here, police said today.
Last night Raj Kumar visited Sunita, 40, his married neighbour with whom he was in illicit relationship for the last six years, at her house. Following a heated argument over some issue, Kumar shot at her and then shot himself, Circle Officer and Deputy SP of Loni Amit Yadav said.
After being informed by neighbours, police reached the spot and rushed the injured duo to a hospital, he said, adding, they were stated to be in stable condition.
An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the IPC, police said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
