Man shot dead by friend

A man was shot dead allegedly by his friend in West Bengal's Nadia district Sunday, police said.

Subhas Biswas (45), a resident of Bijaynagar village was shot dead allegedly by his friend Bibhas Biswas, a former CRPF constable, they said.

Bibhas allegedly fired at Subhas while he was sitting at a shop and then fled, they said.

Police said Bibhas suspected Subhas of having an illicit relationship with his wife.

Nadia Superintendent of Police, Rupesh Kumar said, "The motive of the murder is extra marital affair. Investigation is going on.
