A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of persons after an argument over the latter drinking alcohol outside his house in west Delhi's Khyala area, police said today.

According to police, the incident took place around 10 PM last night when Deepak, a vendor at a local market, objected to a group, comprising at least four persons, partying at a grocery shop outside his residence in Khyala's Narsingh Garden locality.

His objection over the group which was partying and consuming alcohol ensued into a heated argument, following which the group pounced on him and stabbed him in front of his family members, who too had come out of their house during the argument.

Deepak was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injury. A case of murder has been registered in connection with the incident and the accused persons have been identified, a senior official said.

An official privy to the investigation said that it is suspected to be a case of personal enmity as the prime accused was Deepak's neighbour and both had fought in the past over the former creating ruckus in the area after consuming alcohol.

No accused has been arrested in connection with the matter so far, they added.
