Man strangulated to death over love affair: Police

A 22-year-old man was strangulated to death allegedly over a love affair and the body was found dumped near Thekaha-Bakulaha road here, police said today.

"Vishal Chaudhary of Chie Chapra village had gone out of home yesterday evening after receiving a phone call. The youth was later strangulated to death with a rope," Deputy Superintendent of Police Triyambaker Nath Dubey said.

The body was recovered from Thekaha-Bakulaha road this morning, the officer said.

The man was having love affair with a girl of the same village and he had earlier been beaten up by some villagers over the issue, he said, adding the murder appears to be a fallout of the same.
 

On the basis of a complaint by the man's father, a case has been lodged against unknown persons and the body has been sent for postmortem, he added.
