A man was trampled to death by an elephant in Odisha's Dhenkanal district today, police said.
The incident happened in the Sadar forest range area when the man was on his way to a canal, the police.
The deceased was a resident of Goudakateni village under the jurisdiction of Motanga police station, the Forest Ranger of Sadar range, Darsania Bhoi, said.
This was the third death due to elephant attack within a span of two days, he said.
A compensation of Rs 40,000 was paid to the family members of the deceased, Bhoi added.
