Man tries to slit wife's throat

A man allegedly tried to slit his wife's throat and also injured himself following an argument in south Delhi's Munirka this evening, police said.

The couple, identified as Kripa and her husband Ram Kumar, hail from Darjeeling in West Bengal. Both of them have been admitted to hospital.

"The incident happened when the couple had an argument over some matter. In a fit of rage, Kumar tried to slit his wife's throat with a sharp-edged weapon before injuring himself," police said.

An inquiry is on into the case and police are waiting for the couple to recover in order to record their statements.
