Max temperatures close to normal in Punjab, Haryana

In Haryana, Ambala's maximum was 40.6 degrees Celsius, while Hisar's maximum settled at 42.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. Karnal registered a high of 40 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar's high was 40.4 degrees Celsius. and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 40.7 and 41.1 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The department predicted rain or thundershowers at isolated places in and over the next two days.
