Max temperatures hover below normal in Pb, Haryana

Temperatures fell below the 40 degree-mark in Punjab and Haryana today, with rains lashing some places in both states.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 36.4 deg C and also recorded rainfall of 0.2 mm, MeT Department said here.

Temperatures in Haryana fell several notches with Ambala and Hisar registering maximums of 33.8 deg C and 36.2 deg C, four notches below normal.

Karnal and Narnaul had a high of 34 deg C each, up to five degrees below normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 36.3 deg C while Patiala had a high of 34 deg C, four notches below normal.
 

Ludhiana recorded its maximum at 34.7 deg C and also witnessed rainfall of 5.8 mm.

Light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
