Maximum temperature hover above normal in Pb, Hry

Maximum temperatures hovered above normal level in several parts of Punjab and Haryana today as humid weather conditions prevailed causing discomfort to people.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius today, MeT department said.

Sultry weather conditions prevailed in Ambala in Haryana, where the maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius.

Hisar witnessed a hot and humid day recording a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius while Karnal and Narnaul recorded their maximum at 36 degrees and 34.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while Patiala and Ludhiana recorded a maximum at 36.5 degrees and 38.1 degrees Celsius, up to three notches above normal.
 

MeT Department has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
