Maximum temperatures fall at most places in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures dropped by a few notches at most places in Punjab and Haryana today, while Hisar had a hot day at 42.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal limit.

Hisar also received light rain, a MeT official said.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 37.2 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Patiala recorded a high of 37.4 degrees Celsius, down one notch against normal. Ludhiana registered a maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius while Amritsar's maximum settled at 39.7 degrees Celsius.

Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 36.5 degrees Celsius while Karnal registered a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius.
