Featherweight champion Conor McGregor is set to face long-time rival Jose Aldo in the much-awaited Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 194 title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena here.
Five months ago, the UFC fans were deprived of the chance to see McGregor face Aldo when the champion pulled out two weeks before their July fight with a fractured rib.
Instead they watched the 27-year-old McGregor dismantle Chad Mendes in the second round to win the interim title.
McGregor, who has trained back home in Ireland, for this fight believes he is in top shape.
"Yes, 100 per cent, my best work is always done at home. I'm a home boy, I love my country very much. The air in Ireland is absolutely beautiful. That last fight I prepared in the desert air. This one I prepared in the beautiful fresh air of Dublin. We've got good air, good fields, good grass, good everything, and my body has responded well. I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm going to go in and perform," said McGregor, who is nicknamed 'The Notorious'.
McGregor is already looking at the next fight.
"I will KO Jose Aldo and I will face the winner of the lightweight belt, which takes place a week after, and then I will fight for that. So within the next two fights I will be a two-weight world champion," the champion said.
Aldo, however, is not too bothered about what McGregor thinks about him.
"It really doesn't matter to me if he underestimates me. I train for myself, I fight for myself, so whatever he thinks or anyone else doesn't matter at all to me. I'm going to go in there and win, which is what I always do," he said.
Aldo is taking this fight as the biggest of his career.
"I think every fight is the biggest fight of my career, the next one is always the biggest one, so I'm looking at this one as the biggest fight in my career because it's the next one," he opined.
The weekend drama will also witness Chris Weidman's defence of his middleweight title against Luke Rockhold.
The fight will be live on Sony Six HD and Sony Kix on Sunday from 8.30 AM onwards.
