Medium sugar declines on sluggish demand

While, small sugar variety displayed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Medium sugar fell by Rs 1/10 per quintal to Rs 2,991/3,131 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,992/3,141.

Small sugar, however was quoted at Rs 2,912/2,971 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,920/2,965 previously.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,991/3,131 (Rs 2,992/3,141).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,912/2,971 (Rs 2,920/2,965).
