Mentha oil prices were down by 0.59% to Rs 933.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Further, ample stocks in the physical markets on increased arrivals from producing regions put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September month moved down by Rs 5.50, or 0.59% to Rs 933.70 per kg in business turnover of 60 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in August contracts eased by Rs 4.50, or 0.48% to Rs 923.50 per kg in 426 lots.
Analysts attributed fall in mentha oil prices to subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
