MHA seeks report from Rajasthan on 'assault' of Arunachal

The Home Ministry tonight asked the Rajasthan Police to ensure security of students from Northeast and sought a report on alleged harassment of a student from Arunachal Pradesh.

The action came after Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju was informed about an incident of alleged harassment of Haa Tama, a student of Dr K N Modi university in Rajasthan.

"I have given direction to MHA to get the report. My office has already asked the local SP for prompt action," Rijiju told PTI.

Due to the alleged assault, Tama has been hospitalised and is undergoing treatment.
