A middle aged couple and their 11-year-old daughter were killed when their motorcycle was run over by a lorry in the wee hours today at Valancherry in Malappuram district, police said.
The deceased Usman (35), his wife Fausiya (32) and their daughter Nihana were returning home from Fausiya's house when the lorry which lost control at a curve near Vattapara hit the bike from behind around 1.30 a m, Valancherry police said.
The lorry came to a halt after hitting another lorry from the opposite direction and damaging an auto coming from behind.
The injured lorry driver Pramod (26) from Maharashtra has been admitted to a private hospital.
