Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit on April 1, three union ministers and senior officials of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) today reviewed preparations at the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) here.
Modi, who is visiting Odisha for the first time after assuming office, will inaugurate the modernised and expanded units of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), an RSP release said.
This is RSP's second modernisation work and around Rs 12,000 crore were spent on the project, it said.

Union Minister for Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of State (Independent) charge for Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan along with Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, who is also the MP of Sundergarh Lok Sabha segment, visited Rourkela Steel Plant with SAIL chairman C S Verma and other top officials.
"PM would dedicate the newly built unit of RSP to the nation and efforts would be made to make Rourkela a manufacturing hub and create employment opportunities for youth," Pradhan said.
The ministers and officials visited the different sites for the proposed visit of Prime Minister and reviewed the preparations for the event, the release said.
