Minor gangraped by local youths

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two local youths in nearby Shamli district, police said today.

The victim had gone to collect water from a public hand-pump in Hindwada village early morning yesterday when two youths took her to a nearby vacant plot and gangraped her, they said.

The victim was later found unconscious in a semi-clad state, police said.

Akbar (25), who was identified as one of the accused, has been arrested in this connection, they said, adding that an investigation is on.
