Minor girl murdered in Haryana

A 15-year-old girl was murdered in broad daylight in her house in Sector-3 Urban Estate here today, police said.

The incident occurred when the father of the girl went to work at Gaurounda, where he is a lecturer, and her mother had gone to attend a mourning ceremony, they said.

When the girl, who is a student of a private school here, returned home, the assailants attacked her with a screwdriver, police said.

The accused had hid inside the residence as there was nobody there.

Police suspect that it could be a case of rape.

Deputy Commissioner Rajnarain Kaushal said a post-mortem examination would be conducted tomorrow.
