Mired in debt, farmer snuffs out his life

Mired in debt, a 35-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide in a village here, police said today.

Parmanand allegedly hanged himself from a tree, some 200 mts from his house, in Silawan village last night, they said.

The farmer had taken a loan of Rs 35,000 on the Kisan credit card and owed around Rs 1.5 lakh to money-lenders, police said.
