Miscreants kill trader after looting him in UP

A local trader was shot dead today by unidentified miscreants after looting Rs 5 lakhs from him in Sikrara area here, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Vinod Kumar Gupta (45). He was shot dead by some unknown persons when he was going somewhere, they said.

They also looted Rs 5 lakh before killing him, they said.

Later, to protest the incident locals came out on streets causing traffic jam and demanding arrest of those responsible.

Superintendent of Police, Bharat Singh Yadav said that the probe is on in the matter and those involved in the incident will not be spared.
