Missing CPI(M) leader's body found

The body of CPI(M) leader Uttam Banerjee, who has been missing for two days, was found from a pond in Raghunathpur area of Purulia district today, police said.

Banerjee (55) was a district secretariat member of the party and chairman of Raghunathpur Municipality in the 1990's.

He had gone missing two days back and his body was found in a pond at Poddarpara locality of Raghunathpur town, police said.

The deceased leader was mentally disturbed for sometime, district CPI(M) Secretary Nakul Mahato said without elaborating.
