Mixed trend prevails at Chennai foodgrains market

A mixed trend prevailed with decline in prices of of moong dal and maida while all other commodities ruled steady at the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week ended today.

The foodgrains market remained closed for Pongal festival from Tuesday to Thursday.

On Monday, moong dal opened at Rs 8,600 per quintal, Rs 100 down from its previous week's rate, and closed the week at the same rate.

Maida (90 kg) lost ground by Rs 100 to Rs 2,500 from its previous closing rate of Rs 2,600.

However, Thoor dal traded at Rs 7,000, urad dal (Rs 6,900), gram dal (Rs 3,900), wheat (Rs 2,600) and sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,600 remained unchanged at their last week's prices.
