Mohammedan Sporting football club today conferred its highest honour, Shan-e-Mohammedan, to former India midfielder Manas Bhattacharya.
"I have some great memories associated with the club including the Calcutta Football League triumph in 1981," the former right winger who was associated with the club for one season said.
Incidetnally, that was Mohammedan Sporting's 11th and last CFL triumph.
The Shan-e-Mohammedan is awarded annually to respect and laud indispensable contribution of former footballers of the club.
The award carries a sum of Rs 1 lakh.
