Mother-daughter duo drown in water tank

A 50-year-old woman and her daughter died after they drowned in a water tank in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district here today.

The woman identified as Krishna Arora was suffering from some illness and committed suicide by jumping into the water tank located near her house.

Seeing her mother jumping into the tank, her 18-year old daughter Sunita also jumped to rescue her but she also drowned later, police said.

The bodies were recovered and handed over to family members later, police said, adding, that the matter is being probed.
