A mother-son duo were killed and two others injured today when a car ran over them in Mahanagar locality here, police said.
The incident took place this morning at 4 am near Badshahnagar crossing, they said.
The driver of the car, suspected to be in an inebriated state, lost control and ran over several persons sleeping on the footpath, police said.
Mayadevi (52) and her son Ravi (26) were killed on spot, police said.
The two injured persons were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be stable, they said.
An FIR has been registered in the matter, police said.
The car has been seized and the driver arrested but two others who were also present in the car are absconding, police added.
