: A 25-year-old woman and her two minor children, a boy and a girl, drowned in a pond on a hummock close to Sri Vakulamata temple in nearby Pathakalva village today, police said.
The tragedy occurred when the mother and her children went to the pond for washing clothes, they said.
Her five-year-old daughter playing nearby accidentally skidded into the pond and when the mother tried to rescue her she also slipped in.
Her three-year-old son also went into the pond on seeing his mother and all three eventually drowned.
Quarry labourers working nearby rushed to the pond and retrieved the bodies, police added.
