Woman, son drown in pond

A 45-year-old woman and her son

drowned in a pond in Sirthala village today when they were trying to take out their buffalo from the water body.

The incident took place when Nahini was trying to take out her buffalo from the pond and slipped into deep water, police said.

Her 18-year-old son Prakash, a class XI student, in a bid to save her entered the water and he also drowned.
