A 55-year-old man died due to cold in Rajgarh district even as the entire state shivered with low temperatures accompanied by drizzle at some places threw the normal life out of gear.
Police said the deceased was identified as Gopal Jain whose body was found at Saranjpur bus stand.
"His body became stiff. It appears that Jain might have died of severe cold. But, the exact reason would be known only after the postmortem report," said Saranjpur police station in-charge Prakash Mishra.

According to Dr Anupam Kashyapi, Director at city-based Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature of 15 to 16 degree Celsius was recorded in almost entire MP during the day time.
"The minimum temperature tonight is expected to hover between 11 and 13 degree Celsius in large parts of the state," he said.
He said Bhopal and Indore recorded 16.2 mm and 27.1 mm rain, respectively, in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 AM.
"The drizzle is likely to continue for two more days and may exacerbate the cold conditions in the state," Kashyapi said.
Meanwhile, the chill accompanied by drizzle forced people to stay indoors, resulting in low vehicular traffic in many cities.
