MRF Ltd Q1 net profit up 80% at Rs 323 cr

Tyre maker MRF Ltd today posted 79.83 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 323.51 crore for the first quarter ended December 31.

The Chennai-based company had posted net profit of Rs 179.89 crore for the same period of previous fiscal, MRF Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 3,351.68 crore for the first quarter, as compared to Rs 3,197.12 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal, 2013-14.

MRF Ltd follows September-October as its financial year.

The company's scrip closed at Rs 40,702.71, up 7.44 per cent, on the BSE.
