Municipal Board member shot at

A member of Municipal Board here was shot at and injured allegedly by a BSP worker during a panchayat in Hanuman Nagar area today.

Santosh Pathak has been referred to S N Medical College Agra.

"Attempt to nab the culprit could not materialise as he is evading arrest," Superintendent of Police City Shailesh Pandey said.

The panchayat was taking place at the residence of a person against whom a girl had filed a complaint of molestation.

The panchayat was held to reach an out of court settlement, police said. But heated argument broke out on some issue resulting in the attack on Pathak. The BSP leader has been booked.
