Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices dropped 1.08 per cent to Rs 1,639.50 per kg in futures market today due to a weak demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January fell by Rs 17.90, or 1.08 per cent, to Rs 1,639.50 per kg in a business turnover of 159 lots.

The oil for delivery in February lost Rs 17.40, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 1,658.60 per kg in 39 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on the back of easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
