Mentha oil prices were down 0.13 per cent to Rs 841.90 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their holdings, driven by sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month August declined by Rs 1.10, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 841.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 13 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in July shed 90 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 831.60 per kg in 70 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to subdued demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
