Zinc prices edged lower by 0.07 per cent to Rs 214.75 per kg in futures market today after participants cut down bets amid a weak trend at the domestic spot market on subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April shed 15 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 214.75 per kg in business turnover of 408 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in May was trading lower by a similar margin to Rs 215.65 per kg in 115 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by traders due to muted demand from consuming industries in the physical markets helped zinc prices to trade lower at futures trade.
