Naidu announces spl package for mandals merged in E Godavari

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said a special package will be implemented in the seven newly-merged mandals in Polavaram mandal of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu today inaugurated Integrated Tribal Development Agency which consists of Chinturu, Kunnavaram, Yetipaka and Kunnavaram mandals.

The seven mandals merged with East Godavari district are Kukkanur, Velerupadu, V R Puram, Chinturu, Kunnavaram, Bhadrachalam (excluding Bhadrachalam temple) and Burgampadu.

Under the new land acquisition act farmers will get both compensation and land, he said.

Rs 7,000 crore had been spent on Polavaram irrigation project which will affect 190 villages, he said.
 

32,500 acres of land had been acquired and another 18,500 acres was required, he added.

Rs 17-crore worth road will be laid between Chinturu-VR Puram-Nellipaka, the Chief Minister said.

Naidu also unveiled a bronze statue of former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao at Chinturu Centre.
