In a whirlwind visit to Cuttack city today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid foundation stones of two new projects and inaugurated four other projects, including a museum in less than two hours amid a protest by city Congress leaders and workers.
At least 20 Congress workers were taken into preventive custody by the city police when the protestors raised slogans and showed black flag to the Chief Minister asking him to "go back," near Qadam Rasool here in the evening, police said.
The city Congress has been protesting against the Chief Minister's visit to the city since long alleging that the BJD dispensation has been constantly neglecting the city ever since he became Chief Minister in the year 2000.
