The Nawada District Magistrate today suspended arms license of absconding RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav who is facing rape charges involving a minor.

District Magistrate Manoj Kumar suspended the license of Yadav's three arms - a rifle, a pistol and a two-barrel gun.

The DM also asked the fugitive legislator to deposit arms with the concerned police station failing which his licenses would be cancelled.

It may be noted that a local court of Nawada had on February 19 rejected the anticipatory bail petition of the suspended RJD MLA.

On February 23, in compliance with a court's order in neighbouring Nalanda district, the Nawada police pasted notice on three properties, including a house of the absconding RJD MLA Yadav in a village under Mufassil police station area asking him to give himself up before law enforcement agencies within 30 days or else his properties will be confiscated.

This was preceded by the ADJ court having issued arrest warrant against Yadav and three others in connection with a rape case on February 15.

The court had also issued another warrant to carry out search at the legislator's residence at Pathra village under Mufassil police station of Nawada district where he allagedly raped the minor girl on February 6.

Yadav, an RJD MLA from Nawada, who served as minister in Rabri Devi ministry in the past, has gone underground after his arrest order was issed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Shalin on Saturday last.

A police officer said the DIG found the complaint of the minor victim girl's family true.
