Naxals surrender in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh

Three Maoists, two of them carrying hefty rewards on their heads, today surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district.

Narayanpur Additional Superintendent of Police O P Sharma told PTI that along with them, three Maoist "supporters" also surrendered.

These Naxals included Dhansai Usendi, a member of Local Organisation Squad in Bodhghat region, who had earlier served as 'Deputy Commander' in the same unit, the ASP said. He was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head.

Somaru Poyam (23) was active as Paralkot LOS with a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head.

The third Naxal was identified as Shambhulal Poyam (25).
 

Also, three others, described as Maoist supporters, namely, Manduram Manikpuri (45), Dholangu Yadav (45) and Sukku Ram Vadde (45), surrendered, he said.

They were disillusioned with the Maoists, he said.
