Punjab Assembly Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal today strongly advocated the need to have a joint venture between Bulgaria and Punjab to promote tourism and food processing industry.
Atwal expressed this desire during a meeting with a delegation from Bulgaria led by its Ambassador Petko Doykov, who called on him at his office today at Punjab Assembly.
The visiting delegation took a round of the Assembly and collected information pertaining to the working of Parliamentary process in the state Assembly, a Punjab Government release said here.

Describing Punjab as the leading agrarian state of the country, Atwal told the delegation that there was ample of scope to jointly venture in the field of tourism promotion and food processing.
The Speaker apprised the delegation about policies and programmes of the Punjab Government for the welfare of people in the state.
Terming the visit as a memorable one, Doykov said Bulgaria was keen to co-operate with states of India to mutually benefit the industry and tourism sector.
"Bulgaria would fully sport the India's claim for the permanent membership of UNO as India was peace loving country," the release quoting Doykov said.
