Press Trust of India Jammu
Jammu and Kashmir minister Shabir Ahmad Khan today said the move to create new administrative units in the state will revamp the administration and give fillip to development activities.

"The historical decision will help people in hilly and far-flung areas in getting administrative matters sorted out at their doorsteps," he told locals at Ghambir Mughlan in Rajouri district.

The minister of State for Health said the creation of new administrative units reflects government's commitment to take administration to people's doorsteps.

He said the new units will be helpful in streamlining the administration, especially the revenue records, and give impetus to developmental activities under various centrally sponsored schemes, especially in far-off and hilly areas.

The minister said more health sub-centers will be set up in the area to improve medicare facilities.

He said doctors posted in remote and inaccessible areas will now get Rs 53,000 per month.
