Samir De, the husband, and his father were arrested from their house at Nashrapara village following a police complaint lodged by the girl, a day after the incident took place on Friday, and were produced in court today.
Police said soon after the 'bou bhath (wedding feast)' was over, Samir asked his wife Anna to arrange Rs 4,000 as dowry in addition to Rs 6,000 already paid under an agreement.
As the girl refused to pay the amount, the husband and his relatives forced her to leave for her parents' house, they said.
Samir is employed with a local hotel as a casual worker, police said.
