Nickel prices traded lower by 0.84 per cent to Rs 968.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions post muted cues from spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in May fell by Rs 8.20, or 0.84 per cent to Rs 968.10 per kg in business turnover of 2,381 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June was trading lower by Rs 7.60, or 0.78 per cent to Rs 971.80 per kg in 45 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from alloy-makers in the physical markets influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
