Nine CISF jawans remanded in 14 days judicial custody

The nine CISF jawans, arrested in connection with the June 10 violent incidents at the nearby Karipur airport, were today remanded in 14 days of judicial custody by a local court.
Police said they have been lodged at the Calicut district jail after being remanded by Manjeri Chief Judicial Magistrate Jayakumar John.
They were arrested by the investigating team yesterday after CISF authorities handed them over to police.

The nine CISF personnel have been charged under various IPC sections and also Prevention of Damage to Public Properties (PDPP) Act.
A total of 13 jawans and 10 Airports Authority of India (AAI) staff have been arrested in connection with the violent incidents which claimed the life of a CISF jawan.
The clash was a sequel to a dispute on security clearance of AAI staff which resulted in the death of the jawan when a gun went off accidentally in the melee.
