Nitish inaugurates 80-feet Buddha statue

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated an 80-feet tall statue of Lord Buddha at the ashram premises of spiritual guru 'Pilot Baba' here, an official release said.
The Chief Minister, who arrived here from Patna to hold a review meeting of development works, was felicitated by 'Pilot Baba' who presented him with an "Angavastra" (traditional attire) and a small idol of the Buddha.
Nitisj Kumar, thereafter, inaugurated the statue by unveiling a stone plaque at the base of the huge sculpture.

Kumar was accompanied by a number of dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha member and state president of the ruling Janata Dal (United) Bashishtha Narain Singh, Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and Director General of Police P K Thakur.
On the occasion, the chief minister also prayed at a temple situated inside the ashram, the release said.
