No auction of farmers' mortgaged land: Haryana CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today assured the farmers in the state that their land mortgaged with the Cooperative Banks would not be auctioned to cover their debts.
"The land of farmers mortgaged with cooperative banks in the state would not be auctioned," he said here.
The Chief Minister also assured the farmers that the Saraswati Sugar Mill here, one of India's largest sugar mills would not be shut down.

Urging farmers to pay their electricity bills for uninterrupted electricity supply and repay their loans on time, he said that with this circle of transactions, all institutions would work properly and better facilities would be provided to them.
Khattar said that directions have been issued for a special Girdawari (village accountant) to assess the loss of crops due to the recent heavy rain and hailstorm in different parts of the state.
