Northern Ireland elections set for March 2: minister

Northern Ireland will hold new elections on March 2 following the collapse of its power-sharing executive, the British government minister representing the once-troubled province announced today.
"I propose...To set an election date of Thursday, March 2," Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire said in televised comments in Belfast, urging bickering parties to work together.
